2027 Jeep Wrangler in Manitoba: Trims, Engines and Towing

Below are the 2027 trims sold in Canada, the engines and 4x4 systems, towing, and a first hand read on which build suits gravel, a highway commute or a trailer. The 2027 Changes in Brief
Stellantis Canada's "Canada What's New for 2027: Jeep Wrangler" overview, part of its Canada Press Kit: 2027 Jeep Wrangler, lists these changes:
- The two door Willys gets a standard vented power dome hood, matching the four door Willys.
- New paint colours arrive, several of them with late availability.
- Five Twelve 4 Twelve special editions carry over into 2027: the Moab 392, the Willys 392, the Canadian exclusive Rocky Mountain 392, the Whitecap and the Rockslide.

Jeep Wrangler Trims Sold in Canada
Stellantis Canada's overview lists these 2027 trims for Canada: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Willys 392, Moab 392 and Rocky Mountain 392. It marks the Sahara and the three 392 models four door only. Each block below says who the trim suits and the equipment Stellantis Canada lists for it. The window sticker on the Wrangler in front of you is the final word on how that unit was built.
Sport
The Sport is the entry Wrangler, and it is still a Wrangler: solid axles, removable doors and a soft top. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport lists the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 with a six speed manual transmission and a 3.45 axle ratio. It lists Dana solid front and rear axles, skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case, and a black Sunrider soft top. It also lists full frame removable doors with quick release hinges, push button start and Uconnect 5 with a 12.3 inch touchscreen. The wheels are 17 inch black steel styled wheels on 245/75R17 all season tires, with a full size spare. The fuel tank holds 66 litres on a two door and 81 litres on a four door, which is worth knowing before a long run north to the Parkland.
Sport S
The Sport S is the Sport with comfort and driver assistance added. Stellantis Canada lists these step ups from the Sport on the 2027 Sport S: power heated mirrors, deep tint rear and quarter windows, a security alarm, a premium wrapped steering wheel and illuminated vanity mirrors. It also lists Full Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, Advanced Brake Assist, a Corning Gorilla Glass windshield and, with the automatic transmission, enhanced adaptive cruise control. Heated mirrors are the ones you want on Highway 1 after freeze up, when the spray off a semi freezes on the glass.
Willys
The Willys is the Sport with off road hardware added. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Willys lists these step ups from the Sport: LT285/70R17 off road tires, heavy duty Dana axles, an electronic locking rear axle with a conventional front differential, a 4.10 rear axle ratio and Willys suspension. It also lists rock protection sill rails, a Class II hitch receiver with 4 and 7 pin wiring, LED front fog lamps, auxiliary switches and Mopar all weather floor mats, with a Willys hood decal and a 4WD swing gate decal. For 2027, the two door Willys gets the standard vented power dome hood the four door already had. On a grid road that turns to gumbo in April, the rear locker is the piece that earns its keep. Sahara
The Sahara is the Wrangler for the buyer who drives Highway 1 to work all week and the lake on the weekend, and Stellantis Canada's overview makes it four door only. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sahara lists the 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder with Engine Stop/Start and an eight speed automatic as standard, with the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 and an eight speed automatic as the option. It lists heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, automatic temperature control, and Keyless Enter 'n Go proximity entry with remote start. It also lists a black Freedom Top three piece modular hardtop with a rear wiper, washer and defroster, 18 inch grey painted machined wheels, body colour fender flares, automatic LED headlamps and a heavy duty suspension with gas shocks. Remote start and a heated wheel are the features you notice at minus 30 in a rink parking lot after the third period.
Rubicon
The Rubicon is the Wrangler built for the trail and the rutted field approach. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Rubicon lists the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 with Engine Stop/Start, a six speed manual transmission and a 4.10 axle ratio, and the Rock-Trac 4x4 system. It lists heavy duty Dana axles with Tru-Lok, a heavy duty Dana full float rear axle, a performance suspension, sway bar disconnect and rock rails. It also lists 33 inch off road tires on 17 inch black painted machined wheels with a full size spare, and a power dome vented hood with a Rubicon decal. Stellantis Canada's overview gives the Wrangler a crawl ratio of up to 100:1 when properly equipped, which it calls best in class, and Stellantis Canada ties that figure to a Rubicon with the manual transmission and the 4.88 rear axle ratio. Rubicon X
The Rubicon X is the Rubicon with more comfort and safety equipment. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Rubicon X lists, among its step ups from the Rubicon, steel front and rear bumpers, body colour fender flares and a three piece hardtop, and heated front seats with a heated steering wheel. It also lists blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, rear park assist, automatic high beam control and a universal garage door opener. Stellantis Canada's October 12, 2026 release builds the 2027 Switchback on the Rubicon X.
Willys 392, Moab 392 and Rocky Mountain 392
These three share the 6.4 litre HEMI V8, and Stellantis Canada's overview makes all three four door only.
Willys 392. According to Stellantis Canada, it lists the 6.4 litre HEMI V8, a Selec-Trac full time transfer case and a Tru-Lok electronic locking rear differential. It also lists 35 inch BFGoodrich tires on 17 inch beadlock capable machined wheels, steel bumpers and rock protection rails, black Nappa leather seats and a soft top.
Moab 392. According to Stellantis Canada, it lists the 6.4 litre HEMI V8 with an eight speed automatic, a 4.56 rear axle ratio and Selec-Trac full time four wheel drive. It lists 35 inch BFGoodrich off road tires on 17 inch machined aluminum wheels, a functional hood scoop, a body colour three piece hardtop, and black Nappa leather faced seats with heated fronts. It also lists Alpine premium sound, adaptive cruise control with stop, rear park assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection and an integrated off road camera.
Rocky Mountain 392. Stellantis Canada's May 12, 2026 release introduces the 2027 Rocky Mountain 392 exclusively for the Canadian market, built on the Moab 392. The release lists 35 inch all terrain tires, a 4.56 axle ratio and a 2.72:1 Selec-Trac full time transfer case. It puts the Rocky Mountain 392 at select Canadian Jeep dealers in the fourth quarter of 2026, so ask our team whether one can be ordered.
Special Editions
Stellantis Canada has announced 2027 Wrangler special editions built on the trims above, and its October 12, 2026 release says the Switchback completes the Twelve 4 Twelve series.
- Sarge: on the Rubicon and the Willys, as a two door or four door, with 33 inch BFGoodrich KO2 all terrain tires (June 12, 2026 release).
- Laredo: built on the Willys, as a two door or four door, with the Xtreme 35 package standard, which brings 35 inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires and a 2.5 cm (1 inch) lift (July 12, 2026 release). Our Wrangler Laredo post covers it.
- Smoky Mountain: built on the Willys, four door only, with a 2.0 litre or 3.6 litre automatic powertrain, Dana 44 front and rear axles, a locking rear differential and a 4.10 axle ratio (August 20, 2026 release). Our Wrangler Smoky Mountain post covers it.
- JL-2A: built on the Rubicon, as a two door or four door, with 33 inch BFGoodrich KO2 all terrain tires on 17 inch wheels (September 12, 2026 release).

Engines and 4x4 Systems
Stellantis Canada's 2027 Wrangler overview lists three engines.
2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder. 270 horsepower and 295 lb ft, with an eight speed automatic. According to Stellantis Canada, it is the standard engine on the Sahara.
3.6 litre Pentastar V6. 285 horsepower and 260 lb ft, with a six speed manual or an eight speed automatic. Stellantis Canada lists it with the six speed manual on the Sport and the Rubicon, and as the Sahara's optional engine with the eight speed automatic.
6.4 litre HEMI V8. 470 horsepower and 470 lb ft, with an eight speed automatic, in the Willys 392, Moab 392 and Rocky Mountain 392. Stellantis Canada calls that horsepower and torque best in class.

4x4 systems. The overview lists Command-Trac, Rock-Trac in part time and full time versions, and Selec-Trac full time. According to Stellantis Canada, the Rubicon uses Rock-Trac, and the Willys 392, Moab 392 and Rocky Mountain 392 use Selec-Trac full time. For the other trims, the window sticker names the system on that Wrangler. A part time system is meant for slippery or loose surfaces, so follow the owner's manual for that Wrangler on when to use it on bare pavement. A full time system is designed to stay engaged, which suits a Highway 1 run that goes from packed snow to bare pavement and back.
Towing, Ground Clearance and Fuel
Towing. Up to 5,000 lb is the 2027 Wrangler maximum: Stellantis Canada's overview gives it as the maximum when properly equipped, and Jeep Canada's 2027 Wrangler page prints the same pound figure. It is a maximum, so the rating for a given Wrangler is on its door jamb label and window sticker. Manitoba Public Insurance's Trailer Safety brochure says trailer brakes are required by law when the trailer's registered gross vehicle weight is more than 1,360 kg (2,998 lb). That is well under the Wrangler's maximum, so a trailer loaded toward it needs its own brakes. Ground clearance. Stellantis Canada's overview lists up to 32.7 cm (12.9 inches) of ground clearance. It is the number to compare when the lane to the yard drifts in.

The Manitoba Read
Here is how we would walk a buyer through the choice across the desk at Dunn Ram Trucks in Portage la Prairie.
Start with the road at the end of your driveway. If it is a grid road that goes soft in the spring, the Willys earns its electronic locking rear axle and off road tires, and the Rubicon goes further with Tru-Lok, sway bar disconnect and Rock-Trac. If it is Highway 1 to Winnipeg every weekday, the Sahara is the better place to spend, because the hardtop, the heated wheel and remote start are what you use every day. Then the tires. Four wheel drive helps a Wrangler get moving on a glazed field approach; winter tires help it stop and steer. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport comes on 245/75R17 all season tires. We are a participating retailer in the MPI Winter Tire Program; if you qualify, you can apply for the program's financing with us, and Manitoba Public Insurance sets who is eligible. Manitoba Public Insurance says qualifying tires must display the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol and, effective October 1, 2026, "must also be designed and marketed solely for winter driving conditions, including snow and ice." Tires marketed as all weather, all season, four season or year round no longer qualify, even with that symbol.
Then the roof and the cold. Stellantis Canada lists a three piece hardtop on the 2027 Sahara, Rubicon X and Moab 392, and a soft top on the Sport and the Willys 392; the window sticker shows which roof a given Wrangler wears. Jeep Canada's 2027 Wrangler page lists an available Sky One-Touch power top, which it calls class exclusive.
