The Jeep Gladiator is the Jeep pickup, and Jeep Canada's 2027 Gladiator page puts it plainly: "The Gladiator is the only truck that lets you remove the doors and roof." Stellantis Canada gives the 2027 model up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) of towing, so it is a truck that can take the doors off for a July run to Delta Beach and still pull the boat to Lake Manitoba. Below are the 2027 trims sold in Canada, the engine, the 4x4 systems, towing and payload, and our read on which build suits a Manitoba winter, a gravel road or a trailer. To see the trucks themselves, browse our new Jeep Gladiator inventory, and if a vehicle is going in on trade, get a number on your current vehicle before you compare trims.

The 2027 Changes in Brief

Stellantis Canada's "Canada What's New for 2027: Jeep Gladiator" overview lists these changes:

Jeep Gladiator Trims Sold in Canada

Stellantis Canada's 2027 Gladiator overview lists this model lineup for Canada: Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Mojave, Mojave X, Rubicon and Rubicon X. It also describes the new Altitude, based on the Sport S, and the High Altitude on the Sahara, covered after the trim blocks. Each block below says who the trim suits and the equipment Stellantis Canada lists for it. The window sticker on the Gladiator in front of you is the final word on how that truck was built.

The 2027 Lineup at a Glance

The engine is the one Stellantis Canada's 2027 Gladiator overview lists; 4x4 systems are listed only where a Canadian source names one for that trim.

Sport S

The Sport S is the entry Gladiator, and it is already a working pickup with doors that come off. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport S lists the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 with an eight speed automatic, a 3.73 axle ratio, Command-Trac part time four wheel drive and Dana 44 axles. It lists skid plates for the fuel tank, transmission and transfer case, and 245/75R17 highway terrain tires with a full size spare. For the truck side, it lists a five foot steel box with four tie downs and LED lights, a damped three position tailgate, and 4 and 7 pin trailer wiring. It also lists a black Sunrider soft top, full framed removable doors with quick release hinges, and heated manual fold away mirrors. Inside, it lists Uconnect 5 with a 12.3 inch touchscreen and a washout interior with removable carpet and drain plugs, which earns its keep in March when every pair of boots brings in slush and gravel.

Willys

The Willys is the Sport S with off road hardware added, and it is the trim for a yard where the lane turns to gumbo in April. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Willys lists these step ups from the Sport S: a rear electronic locker, heavy duty engine cooling, heavy duty rock rails, red accent front and rear shocks, Willys suspension and a power dome dual vented hood. It also lists LED headlamps and LED front fog lamps, a Class IV hitch receiver, trailer hitch zoom and auxiliary switches. The tires are LT255/75R17C on and off road tires on 17 inch black painted aluminum wheels, and the list includes Mopar all weather floor mats. The rear locker is the piece that matters when a field approach is soft and one rear tire wants to spin.

Sahara

The Sahara is the Gladiator for the buyer who drives Highway 1 to work all week and tows on the weekend. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sahara lists these step ups from the Willys: heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, a remote start system, automatic temperature control, and eight way power front seats with four way lumbar adjustment. It lists a body colour three piece hardtop with a rear window defroster and a rear sliding window, side steps, and passive entry on the front doors. The wheels are 18 inch machined grey wheels on 255/70R18 all season tires. Stellantis Canada's 2027 overview makes the vented power dome hood and side steps standard on the Sahara. Remote start and a heated wheel are what you notice at minus 30 in a dark driveway before the commute.

Mojave

The Mojave is the Gladiator built for speed on rough ground, and according to Stellantis Canada it wears an orange Desert Rated badge. Stellantis Canada lists these step ups from the Sahara on the 2027 Mojave: wider track heavy duty Dana 44 axles, a 25.4 mm (1 inch) front suspension lift, and a heavy duty suspension with Fox 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) internal bypass shocks with reservoirs and Fox front hydraulic jounce bumpers. It also lists an underbody skid plate, heavy duty rock rails, a 4.10 rear axle ratio and 33 inch Falken LT285/70R17C all terrain tires on 17 inch dark grey wheels. Its list adds orange tow hooks, two front and two rear, high clearance front fender flares, a performance style hood with a Mojave decal, and premium cloth seats with sport bolsters. Stellantis Canada's 2027 overview makes a black hardtop standard on it. The shocks are what you feel on a washboard gravel road taken at a good clip. Our Gladiator Mojave post, published in July 2026, sets it against the Rubicon.

Mojave X

The Mojave X is the Mojave with a richer cabin and full time four wheel drive. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Mojave X adds a body colour three piece hardtop, a nine speaker Alpine premium audio system, premium Nappa leather seats and 12 way power front seats. It also adds a full time 2.72 Selec-Trac transfer case, a forward facing trail camera, steel front and rear bumpers, and a safety group with Park-Sense rear park assist and blind spot monitoring. A full time system suits a Highway 1 run that goes from packed snow to bare pavement and back.

Rubicon

The Rubicon is the Gladiator built for slow, hard ground: rocks, ruts and the field approach after the spring melt. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Rubicon lists these step ups from the Mojave: the Rock-Trac active on demand part time 4x4 system, a Tru-Lok front axle differential, a front sway bar disconnect system and a rear stabilizer bar. It also lists a performance suspension with red Tenneco front and rear shocks, heavy duty four wheel antilock disc brakes and a full size spare. Its list adds a power dome dual vented hood with a hood decal, red tow hooks, two front and two rear, rock protection sill rails, a steel rear bumper and 17 inch black painted machined wheels. Stellantis Canada's 2027 overview makes a black hardtop standard on it. The sway bar disconnect lets the front wheels drop into a rut so the tires keep working.

Rubicon X

The Rubicon X is the Rubicon with the new 35 inch tire package and a richer cabin. Stellantis Canada lists the 35 inch tire package as standard on the 2027 Rubicon X and optional on the Willys and the Rubicon, and marks it late availability. According to Stellantis Canada, the Rubicon X adds LT315/70R17C off road tires on 17 inch machined faced wheels, a 35 inch tire suspension, a 4.56 rear axle ratio, wheel flare extensions and performance brakes. It also adds a full time 4:1 Rock-Trac HD transfer case, a body colour three piece hardtop, Nappa leather seats, 12 way power front seats and the Alpine audio system. The safety side adds a forward facing trail camera, a steel front bumper, and Park-Sense rear park assist with blind spot monitoring. Because the package is marked late availability, ask our team whether one can be ordered and when it would land.

Altitude and High Altitude

Stellantis Canada's 2027 Gladiator overview describes two more builds. The new Gladiator Altitude is based on the Sport S, with black 20 inch wheels on all terrain tires, wide track Dana 44 heavy duty axles, a Trac-Lok limited slip rear differential and an available performance hood. The Gladiator High Altitude returns on the Sahara, with machined 20 inch wheels on all terrain tires, body colour bumpers, mirrors, door and tailgate handles, and Nappa leather seats. The overview gives it the same wide track Dana 44 heavy duty axles, Trac-Lok limited slip rear differential and available performance hood, in Black, Bright White or Sting Gray. Ask our team whether either can be ordered and when it would land.

Special Editions

  • Sarge: Stellantis Canada's June 12, 2026 release introduces a Gladiator Sarge special edition based on the Willys and Rubicon trims. The release said Canadian orders would open later in the summer and Canadian pricing would come closer to launch, so ask our team whether one can be ordered.
  • 35 inch Tire Launch Edition: Stellantis Canada's October 26, 2026 release makes it available across the Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X, with factory installed 35 inch all terrain tires, bronze painted 17 inch wheels, a 2.5 cm (1 inch) factory suspension lift, a 4.56 final drive ratio, a full time 4:1 transfer case and bronze tow hooks. The release calls it a limited production run with orders open now. Jeep Canada's 2027 Gladiator page names a Bronze Edition on the same three trims with the 35 inch tire package.

The window sticker names the edition and the trim under it, and ask our team whether a given edition can still be ordered.

Engine and Four Wheel Drive

Stellantis Canada's 2027 Gladiator overview lists one engine: the 3.6 litre V6, at 285 horsepower and 260 lb ft, paired exclusively with an eight speed automatic transmission. It names no diesel and no manual transmission. Stellantis Canada lists the engine as the Pentastar V6 on the Sport S, and the window sticker shows the powertrain on the Gladiator in front of you.

4x4 systems. The overview lists four: Command-Trac, Rock-Trac in part time and full time versions, and Selec-Trac full time. According to Stellantis Canada, the Sport S uses Command-Trac part time, the Rubicon uses Rock-Trac part time, the Rubicon X uses a full time 4:1 Rock-Trac HD transfer case and the Mojave X uses full time Selec-Trac. For the other trims, the window sticker names the system on that Gladiator. A part time system is meant for slippery or loose surfaces, so follow the owner's manual for that Gladiator on when to use it on bare pavement. A full time system is designed to stay engaged. Our post on all wheel drive and four wheel drive in snow covers what the systems do on a Manitoba highway.

Crawl ratio. The overview gives the Gladiator a maximum crawl ratio of up to 86:1, which it calls unmatched, and does not say which build earns it, so ask our team which configuration carries it.

Towing, Payload, Ground Clearance and Fuel

Towing. Stellantis Canada's 2027 Gladiator overview gives up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) of maximum towing, which it calls unsurpassed. Jeep Canada's 2027 Gladiator page prints the same up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) and calls it best in class gas towing, with the class based on J.D. Power's mid size pickup segmentation. Jeep Canada bases the figure on a Sport or Sport S model with the Max Trailer Tow Package. It is a maximum for a Gladiator properly equipped for that rating, so ask our team for the rating on the exact unit you are looking at.

Manitoba Public Insurance's Trailer Safety brochure says that if a trailer's registered gross vehicle weight is more than 1,360 kg (2,998 lb), the law says it must have brakes. That line is well under the Gladiator's maximum, so check your trailer's registered gross vehicle weight before you hitch up. Our Gladiator towing capacity guide walks through the 2026 ratings by trim; for a 2027, ask our team for the rating on that unit.

Payload. The overview gives up to 780 kg (1,720 lb) of maximum payload, and Jeep Canada's 2027 page prints the same figure on the same Sport or Sport S with the Max Trailer Tow Package. It is a maximum for a properly equipped Gladiator, so ask our team for the payload on the exact unit before you load the box.

Ground clearance. The overview lists 32.7 cm (12.9 inches) of ground clearance, approach, departure and breakover angles of 46.7, 26.7 and 23.3 degrees, and up to 86 cm (34 inches) of water fording. It does not say which trim those figures belong to, so ask our team for the figures on the exact unit before you count on them in a drifted lane.

Fuel. Natural Resources Canada publishes fuel consumption ratings by model year in its fuel consumption ratings search tool, which is where a 2027 Gladiator's ratings are looked up.

The Manitoba Read

Here is how we would walk a buyer through the choice across the desk at Dunn Ram Trucks in Portage la Prairie.

Start with the road at the end of your driveway. If it is a grid road that turns to gumbo in April, Stellantis Canada lists a rear electronic locker on the Willys, and the Rubicon adds a Tru-Lok front axle differential and a front sway bar disconnect. If it is washboard gravel you cover at speed, the Mojave's Fox internal bypass shocks are the point of that trim. If it is Highway 1 to Winnipeg every weekday, the Sahara puts the money into things you use daily: heated seats, a heated wheel, remote start and a hardtop with a rear defroster.

Then the tires. Four wheel drive helps a Gladiator get moving on a glazed field approach; winter tires help it stop and steer. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport S comes on 245/75R17 highway terrain tires, so the winter set you shop for starts from the tire size on your Gladiator's door placard. We are a participating retailer in the MPI Winter Tire Program; if you qualify, you can apply for the program's financing with us, and Manitoba Public Insurance sets who is eligible. Manitoba Public Insurance says qualifying tires must display the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol and, effective October 1, 2026, "must also be designed and marketed solely for winter driving conditions, including snow and ice." Tires marketed as all weather, all season, four season or year round no longer qualify, even with that symbol.

Then the roof and the cold. Stellantis Canada lists a soft top on the Sport S and a body colour hardtop on the Sahara, and its 2027 overview makes a black hardtop standard on the Rubicon and the Mojave and a body colour hardtop standard on both X models; the window sticker shows which roof a given Gladiator wears. A Gladiator that lives outside at minus 30 needs a plan for the morning, so before you sign, ask our team whether the unit's window sticker shows an engine block heater. Our service department installs block heaters, and you can book the installation with our service team.

Then the box and the trailer. Bagged feed in the box with an ice fishing shack behind, or a pair of sleds on a trailer, is the kind of load to weigh before the first trip. Up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) of towing and up to 780 kg (1,720 lb) of payload are maximums for a Gladiator properly equipped for those ratings, so ask our team for both ratings on the exact unit before you hitch up.

Jeep Gladiator Versus the Others

  • Against the Wrangler. Jeep Canada's 2027 Wrangler page gives the Wrangler up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lb) of towing, against up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) for the Gladiator, and Stellantis Canada lists a five foot steel box on the Gladiator Sport S. Our 2027 Jeep Wrangler research page has the Wrangler's full lineup, and our Wrangler versus Gladiator comparison asks which open air Jeep fits your life.
  • Against the Ram 1500. Stellantis Canada's "Canada What's New for 2027: Ram 1500" gives the Ram 1500 up to 5,230 kg (11,530 lb) of maximum towing with the 3.0 litre Hurricane SO, against up to 3,493 kg (7,700 lb) for the Gladiator. The Gladiator's answer is the roof and doors, which Jeep Canada says no other truck lets you remove. Our 2027 Ram 1500 research page sets out the half ton's lineup, and our Ram 1500 versus Jeep Gladiator comparison compares the box, towing, the trail and winter.

The figures on this page are for the 2027 model year. If the Gladiator you look at is a 2026, its own window sticker is the final word on how it was built. Stellantis Canada's overview lists the Toledo Assembly Complex as where the Gladiator is built. If the build you want is not listed, ask our team whether it can be ordered and when it would land.
