Stellantis Canada's October 27, 2026 release on the 2027 Compass lists these changes:
- A wireless charging pad and second row USB ports are standard on the Limited and the Trailhawk.
- A new optional Premium Lighting Group adds LED headlights, taillights and fog lights for the Limited and the Trailhawk.
- A Driver Assist Group II adds a 360 degree camera and a universal garage door opener for the Limited and the Trailhawk.
- Four new exterior colours arrive, Ghost, Copper Shino, '41 and Goldilocks, each marked late availability.
Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material also says a 10.25 inch driver information display is now standard on the Trailhawk and the Limited. Sport
The Sport is the entry Compass, and it already covers the winter basics. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport lists the 2.0 litre turbocharged four with an eight speed automatic, at 200 horsepower and 221 lb ft. It lists Jeep Active Drive full time 4x4 with a disconnecting rear axle, the Selec-Terrain traction management system and 225/60R17 all season tires. Inside, it lists heated front seats, keyless entry with push button start, 60/40 split folding rear seats and Uconnect 5 with an 8.4 inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its safety list includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist emergency braking, the Active Lane Management system, drowsy driver detection and a ParkView rear backup camera. Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material says remote start was added to the Sport for 2027, while its North list still names remote start as a step up from the Sport, so read the window sticker for remote start on a given Sport. On a minus 30 morning before the school run, the heated front seats are the first thing you reach for.
North
The North is the Sport with the touches most daily drivers notice. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 North adds 17 inch aluminum wheels, body colour and accent fascias and door handles, automatic high beams and premium cloth seats. The same material lists remote engine start among the North's steps up from the Sport, and says remote start was added to the Sport for 2027, so the window sticker shows it on either trim. Automatic high beams earn their keep on a dark highway home from a late game in Brandon, dipping for the oncoming semi without a reach for the stalk.
North Altitude
Stellantis Canada's October 27, 2026 release lists a North Altitude, and its 2027 trim material calls it the North with the Altitude Package. According to Stellantis Canada, it adds 18 inch black painted wheels, gloss black surrounds with grey exterior badging, black daylight opening mouldings and sliding sun visors with illuminated mirrors. It also adds Uconnect 5 NAV with a 10.1 inch touchscreen. It is the North for the buyer who wants the darker look and built in navigation, and the window sticker names the package on a given unit.
Limited
The Limited is the Compass with the dressier cabin. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Limited lists 19 inch painted aluminum wheels on 235/45R19 all season tires, leatherette seats and piano black interior accents. Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material lists a 10.25 inch driver information display as standard on the Limited, and the October 27, 2026 release makes a wireless charging pad and second row USB ports standard on it. The release also lists the new optional Premium Lighting Group and a Driver Assist Group II, with a 360 degree camera and a universal garage door opener, for the Limited. The window sticker shows whether a given unit has either one. The garage door opener is the one you appreciate pulling in out of a February storm with the snow coming sideways.
Trailhawk
The Trailhawk is the Trail Rated Compass. Stellantis Canada's October 27, 2026 release credits it with 4x4 Trail Rated capability and a two speed PTU, which the release calls class exclusive. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page calls it the only model equipped with the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 System and Rock Mode, and lists standard off road suspension. The same page gives the Trailhawk 21.8 cm (8.6 inches) of ground clearance, against 20.5 cm (8.1 inches) on all of its Compass models. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Trailhawk also lists front and rear tow hooks, skid plates with a black hood decal, hill descent control and a black painted roof. It lists 17 inch painted black wheels, premium cloth and leather faced seats with Ruby Red accent stitching, an eight way power driver's seat and a 10.25 inch driver information display. The release makes a wireless charging pad and second row USB ports standard, and lists the Premium Lighting Group and Driver Assist Group II for the Trailhawk too, so read the window sticker for those. Engines and Four Wheel Drive
2.0 litre turbocharged four. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page lists the 2.0 litre turbocharged four with an eight speed automatic transmission as standard on all models. Stellantis Canada's October 27, 2026 release gives it 200 horsepower and 221 lb ft, and calls both figures best in class for standard horsepower and torque. Jeep Canada's 2027 Compass page bases those claims on SIR Compact Utility Vehicle segmentation, excluding PHEV, MHEV, HEV and EV entrants. The release lists one engine for the 2027 Compass.
4x4 systems. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page describes the Jeep Active Drive 4x4 System as an engage on demand feature, and says that in Auto mode its rear axle disconnect switches from 4x4 to front wheel drive for better fuel consumption. It describes Jeep Active Drive I as a fully automatic all wheel drive system that switches between 2WD and 4WD. Neither description names a trim. According to Stellantis Canada, the Sport lists Jeep Active Drive full time 4x4 with a disconnecting rear axle, and Jeep Canada's capability page gives the Trailhawk alone the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 System and Rock Mode. For the North, North Altitude and Limited, the window sticker names the system on that unit.
Selec-Terrain. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page lists Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud and Rock modes, with Rock Mode exclusive to the Trailhawk. Snow mode is the setting to know for a Manitoba winter.
Towing, Ground Clearance and Fuel
Towing. Jeep Canada's 2027 Compass page gives the Compass up to 907 kg (2,000 lb) of towing and calls it the unsurpassed in class standard maximum towing capacity, based on SIR Compact Utility Vehicle segmentation and excluding PHEV, MHEV, HEV and EV entrants. Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material prints the same 907 kg (2,000 lb). Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page notes that its maximum ratings are when properly equipped, with specific model and optional equipment required. It is a maximum for a properly equipped Compass, so ask our team for the rating on the exact unit you are looking at.
Manitoba Public Insurance's Trailer Safety brochure says that if a trailer's registered gross vehicle weight is more than 1,360 kg (2,998 lb), the law says it must have brakes. The rule reads the weight the trailer is registered at, so check the trailer's registration as well as the scale. Then the tires. Four wheel drive helps a Compass get moving on a glazed intersection; winter tires help it stop and steer. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Sport comes on 225/60R17 all season tires, so the winter set you shop for starts from the tire size on your Compass's door placard. Then the trailer. A single snowmobile on a small trailer, a utility trailer for the cottage or a light boat for Lake Manitoba is the kind of load to weigh loaded before the first trip.
