The 2027 Changes in Brief
Stellantis Canada's June 15 and August 12, 2026 releases on the 2027 Grand Cherokee list these changes:
- The Trailhawk and the Overland return, both marked late availability in the August 12 release.
- A new Upland, which the release calls the Laredo Upland, brings Trailhawk inspired looks and off road gear to the lineup.
- The Laredo and Laredo X get a 10.1 inch touchscreen in place of the 8.4 inch screen, and a new 18 inch wheel design.
- The Limited gets a new 20 inch wheel design, a wireless charging pad and rain sensing wipers, and the Limited Reserve gets auto power folding mirrors.
- New exterior colours arrive, several of them marked late availability, and Wicker Beige is a new interior colour for the Laredo.

Laredo
The Laredo is the entry Grand Cherokee, and it already covers the winter basics. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Laredo lists the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 with an eight speed automatic, Quadra-Trac I four wheel drive with an active single speed transfer case, and a 3.45 rear axle ratio. It lists 18 inch Fine Silver aluminum wheels on 265/60R18 all season tires, cloth seats in Black or Wicker Beige, an eight way power driver's seat and seating for five. Its comfort list includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual zone automatic temperature control and Uconnect 5 with a 10.1 inch touchscreen. It also lists adaptive cruise control with stop and go, blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, rear park assist and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. On a minus 30 morning before the school run, the heated wheel is the one you reach for first.
Laredo X
The Laredo X is the Laredo with the conveniences most buyers end up wanting. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Laredo X adds a single pane power sunroof, a remote start system, a power liftgate, a 115 volt auxiliary power outlet and a selectable tire fill alert. Stellantis Canada's August 12 release keeps the 3.6 litre V6 standard on it. Remote start earns its keep in a January parking lot, and the power liftgate when your arms are full and the curb is a snowbank.
Laredo Altitude and Limited Altitude
Stellantis Canada's August 12, 2026 release lists a Laredo Altitude and a Limited Altitude, and makes the 2.0 litre Hurricane 4 Turbo standard from the Laredo Altitude up. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page lists the Selec-Terrain traction management system as standard on Altitude models. Neither source sets out the rest of their equipment line by line, so the window sticker is the list for a given unit, and our Laredo, Altitude and Limited comparison, written on the 2026 lineup, walks the step ups trim by trim.
Upland
The Upland is new for 2027, and it is the Grand Cherokee for the buyer whose driveway is gravel. Stellantis Canada's August 12, 2026 release says it joins the lineup "to provide off-road gear and Trailhawk-inspired looks at a value". The release lists 18 inch Trailhawk inspired wheels on 265/60R18 all terrain tires, a Trailhawk inspired front fascia with tow hooks, a body colour painted roof and Capri leatherette and suede seats. Jeep Canada's 2027 page describes the tow hooks as Vapour Grey. According to Stellantis Canada, the Upland is two row only and also lists a hood decal, front LED fog lamps, hill descent control, heavy duty engine cooling, a power liftgate, remote start and Uconnect 5 NAV with a 12.3 inch touchscreen. Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material also lists Quadra-Trac II with a two speed transfer case and Quadra-Lift air suspension on the Upland, while Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page names those systems on other trims and not the Upland, so read the window sticker for the 4x4 system and suspension on a given unit. Neither source names the Upland's engine, so the window sticker shows that too.
Limited
The Limited is where the Hurricane 4 Turbo and most of the comfort equipment come in. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Limited lists the 2.0 litre Hurricane 4 Turbo with Engine Stop/Start, Quadra-Trac I, the Selec-Terrain traction management system, a 3.70 rear axle ratio, a 240 amp alternator and heavy duty engine cooling. It lists heated exterior mirrors with memory, front LED fog lamps, automatic high beam control, driver's seat memory and an eight way power front passenger seat. It also lists a nine speaker audio system with a subwoofer, Uconnect 5 NAV with a 12.3 inch touchscreen and a universal garage door opener. Stellantis Canada's August 12, 2026 release adds a new 20 inch wheel design, a wireless charging pad and rain sensing wipers to the 2027 Limited. Heated mirrors are the ones you want on Highway 1 after freeze up, when the spray off a semi turns to ice on the glass.
Limited Reserve
The Limited Reserve is the Limited with a richer cabin and more cameras. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Limited Reserve adds a dual pane panoramic sunroof, 20 inch high gloss black aluminum wheels, and Nappa leather faced seats, door trim and instrument panel. It also adds ventilated front seats, a power tilt and telescoping steering column with memory, a digital rearview mirror, a 360 degree surround view camera, an integrated off road camera and front and rear park assist. Stellantis Canada's August 12 release adds auto power folding mirrors for 2027.
Trailhawk
The Trailhawk is the off road Grand Cherokee, and Stellantis Canada's June 15, 2026 release calls it Trail Rated. The release gives it the 2.0 litre Hurricane 4 Turbo with an eight speed automatic, at 324 horsepower and 332 lb ft. It lists Quadra-Trac II with a two speed transfer case, Selec-Terrain with Rock mode, Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic semi active damping and a rear electronic limited slip differential. It also lists 30.5 inch Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires, the TrailCam off road camera, six steel skid plates, red tow hooks and a standard Trailer Tow Package. According to Stellantis Canada, the Trailhawk is two row only and lists a Class IV hitch receiver with 7 and 4 pin wiring. The August 12 release marks it late availability, so ask our team whether one can be ordered and when it would land. Low range from the two speed transfer case is what you want pulling a boat up a slick ramp at Lake Manitoba.
Overland
The Overland is the off road Grand Cherokee dressed for the highway. Stellantis Canada's June 15, 2026 release gives it a more aggressive front end, 21 inch machine faced wheels, a body colour painted roof and Nappa leather with Overland embossing. It lists heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. It also lists Quadra-Trac II with a two speed transfer case, Quadra-Lift air suspension, which the release calls class exclusive, hill descent control, semi active damping and a standard 360 degree surround view camera with washer. According to Stellantis Canada, the Overland also adds a hands free power liftgate, a dual panoramic sunroof and a digital rearview mirror over the Trailhawk. Like the Trailhawk, it is marked late availability, so ask our team whether one can be ordered.
Summit
The Summit is the top of the two row lineup. Stellantis Canada's 2027 trim material names it the Summit Obsidian, which replaces the Summit base trim, and the window sticker names the trim on a given unit. According to Stellantis Canada, it adds over the Overland a black painted roof, painted door cladding, 21 inch black aluminum wheels, LED front cornering fog lamps and Quadra-Drive II. It also lists trailer hitch zoom, Palermo leather seats with ventilated front and second row seats, and power front seats with seatback massage and memory. Its list includes four zone automatic temperature control, a 19 speaker McIntosh audio system with a 950 watt amplifier and a full size spare. Engines and Four Wheel Drive
Stellantis Canada's August 12, 2026 release lists two engines for the 2027 Grand Cherokee, and it names no 4xe plug in hybrid.
3.6 litre Pentastar V6. Standard on the Laredo and Laredo X, according to the release. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page lists up to 293 horsepower and 260 lb ft, and Stellantis Canada lists it with an eight speed automatic on the Laredo.
2.0 litre Hurricane 4 Turbo. Standard from the Laredo Altitude up, according to the release. Stellantis Canada's June 15, 2026 release gives it 324 horsepower and 332 lb ft with an eight speed automatic, and Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page calls that transmission the new Gen IV.

4x4 systems. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page describes three. Quadra-Trac I gives full time four wheel drive without any driver input, and the page lists it on the Laredo, Laredo X and Limited. Quadra-Trac II is listed on the Trailhawk, Overland and Summit, and Stellantis Canada's June 15, 2026 release pairs it with a two speed transfer case, which gives you low range. Quadra-Drive II adds an electronic limited slip rear differential that Jeep Canada says can send up to 100 percent of torque to a single rear wheel, and is listed on the Summit. For the trims the table leaves to the sticker, the window sticker names the system on that unit.
Air suspension. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page says the available Quadra-Lift air suspension automatically lowers at highway speeds, and calls it class exclusive. Stellantis Canada lists it on the Trailhawk, Overland and Summit, and its trim material lists it on the Upland as well, so read the window sticker on an Upland.
Towing, Ground Clearance and Fuel
Towing. Stellantis Canada's August 12, 2026 release gives the 2027 Grand Cherokee a maximum of 2,812 kg (6,200 lb) when properly equipped, which it calls best in class. Jeep Canada's 2027 Grand Cherokee page prints the same up to 2,812 kg (6,200 lb), based on full size utility vehicle competitors and excluding other FCA U.S. LLC vehicles. Jeep Canada adds that options, equipment, passengers and cargo weight may affect towing weights. It is a maximum for a properly equipped Grand Cherokee, so ask our team for the rating on the exact unit you are looking at. Stellantis Canada's June 15 release makes a Trailer Tow Package standard on the Trailhawk.
Manitoba Public Insurance's Trailer Safety brochure says that if a trailer's registered gross vehicle weight is more than 1,360 kg (2,998 lb), the law says it must have brakes. That is well under the Grand Cherokee's maximum, so a trailer registered anywhere near it needs its own brakes. Ground clearance. Stellantis Canada's June 15, 2026 release gives the 2027 Trailhawk up to 28.9 cm (11.4 inches) of ground clearance and approach, breakover and departure angles of 36, 24.4 and 30.3 degrees, and calls each of them best in class. Jeep Canada's 2027 capability page prints a lower clearance figure for the Trailhawk, up to 27.7 cm (10.9 inches), so ask our team for the figure on the exact unit before you count on it in a drifted lane.

The Manitoba Read
Here is how we would walk a buyer through the choice across the desk at Dunn Ram Trucks in Portage la Prairie.
Start with the road at the end of your driveway. If it is a grid road that turns to gumbo in April or drifts in by February, Stellantis Canada lists all terrain tires on the Upland and the Trailhawk, and gives the Trailhawk a two speed transfer case, a rear electronic limited slip differential and skid plates. If it is Highway 1 to Winnipeg every weekday, the Laredo X and the Limited are where the money goes into things you use daily: remote start, a power liftgate, and on the Limited heated mirrors and automatic high beams. Then the tires. Four wheel drive helps a Grand Cherokee get moving on a glazed field approach; winter tires help it stop and steer. According to Stellantis Canada, the 2027 Laredo comes on 265/60R18 all season tires, so the winter set you shop for starts from the tire size on your Grand Cherokee's door placard. Manitoba Public Insurance says qualifying tires must display the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol and, effective October 1, 2026, "must also be designed and marketed solely for winter driving conditions, including snow and ice." Tires marketed as all weather, all season, four season or year round no longer qualify, even with that symbol.
Then the cold mornings. A Grand Cherokee that lives outside at minus 30 needs a plan for the morning. According to Stellantis Canada, the Laredo already lists heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, and the Laredo X adds remote start. Then the trailer. A snowmobile trailer with two sleds, an ice fishing shack for Lake Manitoba or a camper for Spruce Woods in July is the kind of load to weigh loaded before the first trip.
