2027 Ram 1500 in Manitoba: Trims, Towing and What Changed

The Ram 1500 is the half ton that does the Trans-Canada run into Winnipeg on Monday, the gravel grid out to the yard on Tuesday and the camper to Lake Manitoba on the long weekend, and this page is the whole truck in one place for a buyer anywhere in Manitoba, with Portage la Prairie and the Central Plains as home. Below are the 2027 changes Stellantis Canada confirmed, the trims sold in Canada, the engines with their towing and payload in kilograms and pounds, and a first hand read on which build suits a prairie winter. If you want to skip the reading, go straight to our new Ram 1500 inventory, and if a trade is part of the plan, see what your current truck is worth before you compare trims.
What Changed for 2027
Stellantis Canada's release "Canada What's New for 2027: Ram 1500" is the source for every line in this section. The release states that the 2027 Ram 1500 comes standard with 4x4 in Canada, and it lists seven powertrains, set out further down this page with their towing and payload figures.
The trim level changes are small and specific. The Big Horn Crew Cab with the Level 2 Equipment Group adds passive entry. The Laramie adds standard rain sensing wipers. The 360 degree surround camera is now standard on Limited, Limited Longhorn and RHO, and optional with the Laramie and Rebel Level 1 Equipment Groups for the first time. The Limited and Limited Longhorn offer a RamBox delete option for customers who need maximum bed width. Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock and Rebel get a new Satin Black Symbol of Protest fender badge, and trucks with the Night Edition Package get it too. The RHO gets a reimagined tailgate badge with a rhino head motif.
Two changes matter more on a farm yard than in a brochure. The 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 eTorque gains available 2 kW of onboard power through two 120 volt outlets in the pickup bed, which is a compressor, a charger or a saw at the far end of a field without a generator. And the Warlock with that V6 eTorque becomes the entry to the off road lineup at a price the release prints, covered under the Warlock below.
At the top of the range, the TRX SRT returns and wears an SRT badge for the first time, and the Rumble Bee muscle trucks add a Quad Cab, a 5 foot 7 inch bed and a widebody option across four variants. Colours expand with Goldilocks Pearl Coat (late availability on select models), Flame Red Clear Coat returns and Tank Clear Coat is offered more widely across the lineup. The release says the 2027 Ram 1500 is available to order in dealerships now, with the TRX from Q3 2026 and the Rumble Bee from Q1 2027. Our 2027 Ram 1500 what's new post is the fuller read on these changes, including whether to wait for one.
Ram 1500 Trims Sold in Canada
The trims below are the 2027 lineup as Stellantis Canada's release groups it: the core trucks, the off road trucks, the premium trucks and the muscle trucks. Each block says who the trim is for, what the Canadian release says about it for 2027, and where to read the full guide. For the equipment Ram Canada lists on each trim, the guide linked in each block walks it, and the window sticker on the truck in front of you is the final word on how that unit was built.
Tradesman

The Tradesman is the work truck, the one a farm, a crew or a municipality in the Central Plains prices first and the one that ends up with a toolbox bolted in the bed. Ram Canada's 2026 Tradesman model card lists as key standard equipment the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6, 18 inch steel wheels with 275/65R18 tires, Uconnect 5 with an 8.4 inch touchscreen, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross path and trailer detection. For 2027, the Canadian release gives the Tradesman the new Satin Black Symbol of Protest fender badge and names no other Tradesman change. Read the full Tradesman guide.
Express and Black Express

The Express is the Tradesman for the buyer who wants the truck to look like more than a work order, and the Black Express is the same idea with the brightwork blacked out. Stellantis Canada lists both in the 2027 core lineup and gives the Black Express the same Satin Black Symbol of Protest badge as the Tradesman. Ram Canada's model page lists the Express's key enhancements; read the full Express guide, and our Express versus Tradesman comparison settles the choice between the two.
Big Horn

The Big Horn is the family truck of the ring: the Crew Cab that does school in MacGregor, hockey in Portage and the Trans-Canada into Winnipeg on the same tank. For 2027, Stellantis Canada says the Big Horn Crew Cab with the Level 2 Equipment Group adds passive entry, so the truck unlocks with the fob in your pocket rather than a button press, which is a small thing until it is minus 30 and you have mitts on. Ram Canada's model page lists the Big Horn's key enhancements; read the full Big Horn guide.
Sport

The Sport is the core truck with the sport appearance treatment, for the buyer who may never hook up a stock trailer but wants the truck to look the part on Saskatchewan Avenue. Stellantis Canada lists the Sport in the 2027 core lineup and names no Sport specific change for 2027. Read the full Sport guide, and if it is between this and the family truck, our Big Horn versus Sport comparison is the next read.
Laramie
The Laramie is where the Ram 1500 turns from a truck you work in to a truck you live in, and it is the trim to look at when the truck is also the household's only vehicle. For 2027, Stellantis Canada says the Laramie adds standard rain sensing wipers, and the 360 degree surround camera becomes optional with the Laramie Level 1 Equipment Group for the first time, which earns its keep backing a trailer up to a hitch alone. Read the full Laramie guide, and our Laramie versus Limited comparison is the read if the budget stretches.
Warlock

The Warlock is the entry to Ram's off road family, and for 2027 it is the one trim Stellantis Canada prices in its release: the Warlock with the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 eTorque starts at $69,085 including destination, less any applicable incentives, and you can check our current pricing here on our new Ram 1500 inventory. The release calls it a new value packed entry point to the off road lineup and gives it the Satin Black Symbol of Protest badge. For a gravel road driver in the ring who wants the look and the stance without a Rebel's price, start here. Read the full Warlock guide, and our BackCountry versus Warlock versus Rebel comparison ranks the three off road trims against each other.
BackCountry

The BackCountry sits between the Warlock and the Rebel in Stellantis Canada's 2027 off road group, for the buyer who wants the off road hardware on a core truck budget. The 2027 release names no BackCountry specific change. Read the full BackCountry guide for what Ram Canada lists on it.
Rebel

The Rebel is the off road Ram for the buyer who drives gravel every day and wants the truck built for it at the factory, not lifted afterward. For 2027, Stellantis Canada gives the Rebel the Satin Black Symbol of Protest badge and makes the 360 degree surround camera optional with the Rebel Level 1 Equipment Group for the first time. Read the full Rebel guide for the suspension, tires and interior as Ram Canada lists them.
RHO

The RHO is the high output off road truck. Ram Canada's 2027 Ram 1500 RHO page lists the 3.0 litre Hurricane High Output twin turbo six, which Stellantis Canada's 2027 release rates at 540 horsepower and 521 lb ft, and the release describes the RHO as Ram's best off road performance model, gives it the reimagined tailgate badge and makes the 360 degree surround camera standard on it. The window sticker on the unit shows its engine and equipment. Read the full RHO guide.
TRX SRT

The TRX SRT returns for 2027 and, Stellantis Canada says, wears an SRT badge for the first time. Ram Canada's 2027 TRX SRT page lists the supercharged 6.2 litre HEMI V8, and the release puts that engine at 777 horsepower and 680 lb ft. The release sets TRX ordering from Q3 2026. It is the halo truck, and as an SRT vehicle it carries a shorter powertrain term than most of the lineup, covered under Warranty below. Read the full 2027 TRX guide.
Limited and Limited Longhorn

The Limited is the premium Ram 1500, and the Limited Longhorn is the same truck with its own interior treatment. For 2027, Stellantis Canada makes the 360 degree surround camera standard on both and adds a RamBox delete option for customers who need maximum bed width, which matters if you slide a full width load of sheet goods or a sled deck into the box. The Laramie versus Limited comparison linked under the Laramie above covers the step up, and our Longhorn guide still carries the Laramie Longhorn name the trim launched under.
Tungsten

The Tungsten is the top of the premium group. Stellantis Canada's 2027 release describes it with air suspension, 24 way massage seats and 540 horsepower, which is the Hurricane High Output figure in the same release. It is for the buyer who wants the premium group's full equipment and will drive out from Winnipeg or Brandon for the right one. Read the full Tungsten guide.
Rumble Bee

The Rumble Bee muscle trucks come in four 2027 variants, Rumble Bee, Rumble Bee 392, Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack and Rumble Bee SRT, with power from three HEMI V8 powertrains; the Rumble Bee SRT carries the 777 horsepower supercharged 6.2 litre. Stellantis Canada says the 2027 trucks add a Quad Cab, a 5 foot 7 inch bed and a widebody option, with ordering from Q1 2027. Our Rumble Bee price guide and our Rumble Bee ordering guide cover it.
Engines, Drivetrain, Towing and Payload
Every figure here is from Stellantis Canada's "Canada What's New for 2027: Ram 1500" release, which prints each as "up to" a maximum for that powertrain. The truck's own rating depends on cab, box, axle and equipment, and the number that counts for your trailer is on the door jamb label and the window sticker of the unit, not a page. Our Ram 1500 towing capacity guide and our Ram 1500 payload guide explain how to read those labels.
3.6 litre Pentastar V6 eTorque hybrid. 305 horsepower and 269 lb ft, eight speed automatic (TorqueFlite 850RE). Up to 3,674 kg (8,100 lb) max towing; up to 1,061 kg (2,340 lb) max payload. The highest payload figure in the release, and the engine behind the Warlock's entry price.
5.7 litre HEMI V8. 395 horsepower and 410 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP75). Up to 4,032 kg (8,890 lb) max towing; up to 521 kg (1,150 lb) max payload.
5.7 litre HEMI V8 eTorque hybrid. 395 horsepower and 410 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP75). Up to 5,157 kg (11,370 lb) max towing; up to 762 kg (1,680 lb) max payload.
3.0 litre Hurricane SO twin turbo inline six. 420 horsepower and 469 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP75). Up to 5,230 kg (11,530 lb) max towing, the highest towing figure in the release; up to 853 kg (1,880 lb) max payload.
3.0 litre Hurricane HO twin turbo inline six. 540 horsepower and 521 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP75). Up to 4,300 kg (9,480 lb) max towing; up to 694 kg (1,530 lb) max payload.
6.4 litre HEMI V8. 470 horsepower and 470 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP75). Up to 3,383 kg (7,460 lb) max towing; up to 526 kg (1,160 lb) max payload.
6.2 litre supercharged HEMI V8. 777 horsepower and 680 lb ft, eight speed automatic (8HP95). Up to 3,892 kg (8,580 lb) max towing; up to 517 kg (1,140 lb) max payload.
Drivetrain. The release states the 2027 Ram 1500 comes standard with 4x4 in Canada. Ram Canada's 2027 Ram 1500 page describes the choice as "standard shift-on-the-fly or optional on-demand capability", and the sticker on the truck shows which transfer case that unit carries. The release also lists a five link coil rear suspension on the 1500 and an available active levelling air suspension, which Ram Canada calls class exclusive; our air suspension in winter post covers what that system means in a Manitoba January. For the inline six in plain language, read our Hurricane engine explainer, and for the Natural Resources Canada ratings by engine, our Ram 1500 fuel economy post has them to the decimal.
The Manitoba Read
Here is how we would walk a buyer through the choice across the desk at Dunn Ram Trucks in Portage la Prairie.
Start with what is behind the truck, not what is under the hood. A camper to Lake Manitoba or the Whiteshell, a tandem stock trailer or a 20 foot flat deck with a skid steer on it are different jobs, and the release's own figures put the Hurricane SO and the 5.7 litre HEMI eTorque in one towing band and the V6 eTorque a step below it. If the heaviest thing you pull is a boat or a utility trailer, the V6 eTorque has the highest payload figure in the release, and the available 2 kW bed outlets on the 2027 V6 eTorque turn a field approach into a job site. If you are at the top of the half ton's rating with a trailer every week, read our Ram 1500 versus Ram 2500 comparison before you decide, because the honest answer is sometimes the heavier truck.
Cold is the next question. A Manitoba truck lives outdoors at minus 30 for stretches of the winter, so before you sign, ask our team whether the unit's window sticker shows an engine block heater; our service department installs block heaters if it does not. Our Ram 1500 winter tire size post covers the second cold weather decision, and we are a participating retailer in the MPI Winter Tire Program; if you qualify, you can apply for the program's financing with us, and Manitoba Public Insurance sets who is eligible.
Gravel decides the trim. Highway 1 and the Yellowhead are the easy part; the grid roads around Oakville, Gladstone and St. Claude are where an all terrain tire, a higher stance and underbody protection earn their price, which is the case for the Warlock, BackCountry or Rebel over a Big Horn for a buyer who lives on a section road. For a buyer who commutes the Perimeter and parks in a Winnipeg garage, the premium trucks and the Sport make more sense.
Cab and box come last, and they are the choice that is hardest to change later. Our Crew Cab versus Quad Cab post and our Ram 1500 bed size post lay out the trade between back seat room and box length, and the RamBox guide explains what the 2027 RamBox delete on the Limited gives back. If you are looking at an older Ram 1500 Classic on a used lot, our Ram 1500 Classic explainer tells you what you are looking at, and our how long a Ram 1500 lasts post is the read on the long haul.

If the build you want is not on the lot, Stellantis Canada's release says the 2027 Ram 1500 is available to order in dealerships now, with the TRX from Q3 2026 and the Rumble Bee from Q1 2027; ask our team whether the build you want can be ordered and when it would land.
Warranty on a 2027 Ram 1500
A 2027 model year Ram 1500 carries Ram Canada's standard warranty: 3 years or 60,000 km basic, 5 years or 100,000 km fully transferable limited powertrain with $0 deductible and 24 hour roadside assistance, other than SRT vehicles such as the 2027 TRX SRT, which Ram Canada backs with a 3 year or 60,000 km powertrain limited warranty. Ram Canada also says the 5 year or 100,000 km term does not apply to vehicles sold for certain commercial uses, so on a fleet or commercial purchase, ask our team which terms apply. Ram Canada's 2027 Ram 1500 page prints the basic term as "3 years or 60,000 kilometres" and the powertrain term as "5 Years or 100,000 Kilometres, whichever comes first" on select 2027 Ram trucks and vans, and its TRX SRT page says SRT vehicles are backed by a 3 year or 60,000 kilometre fully transferable powertrain limited warranty.
If the truck you pick is a 2026 model year Ram 1500 bought or leased new by a retail customer, it carries Ram Canada's 10 year or 160,000 km limited powertrain warranty, whichever comes first, covering the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials and axles; that term is for the 2026 model year only, is not offered to fleet customers, and is not transferable except where provincial law requires. The model year is on the window sticker, so read it first and the coverage follows.
FAQs
What changed on the 2027 Ram 1500 in Canada?
Stellantis Canada's "Canada What's New for 2027: Ram 1500" release lists these changes: 4x4 standard in Canada; passive entry on the Big Horn Crew Cab with the Level 2 Equipment Group; standard rain sensing wipers on the Laramie; the 360 degree surround camera standard on Limited, Limited Longhorn and RHO and optional on the Laramie and Rebel Level 1 Equipment Groups; a RamBox delete option on Limited and Limited Longhorn; a Satin Black Symbol of Protest badge on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, Rebel and Night Edition trucks; available 2 kW bed power on the 3.6 litre V6 eTorque; the TRX SRT's return with an SRT badge; four Rumble Bee variants with a Quad Cab, a 5 foot 7 inch bed and a widebody option; and three colour changes.
Is 4x4 standard on the 2027 Ram 1500 in Canada?
Yes. Stellantis Canada's 2027 Ram 1500 release states that the 2027 Ram 1500 comes standard with 4x4 in Canada. Ram Canada's 2027 page describes the systems as standard shift on the fly or optional on demand capability, and the window sticker shows which transfer case a given truck has.
How much can a 2027 Ram 1500 tow?
Up to 5,230 kg (11,530 lb) with the 3.0 litre Hurricane SO, which is the highest figure Stellantis Canada prints for the 2027 lineup; the 5.7 litre HEMI V8 eTorque is rated up to 5,157 kg (11,370 lb) and the 3.6 litre V6 eTorque up to 3,674 kg (8,100 lb). Each is an "up to" maximum for that powertrain, and the rating for a specific truck depends on its cab, box, axle and equipment, so read the door jamb label and the window sticker on that unit.
Which Ram 1500 trims are sold in Canada for 2027?
Stellantis Canada's 2027 release lists the core trucks (Tradesman, Express and Black Express, Big Horn, Sport, Laramie), the off road trucks (Warlock, BackCountry, Rebel, RHO, TRX SRT), the premium trucks (Limited, Limited Longhorn, Tungsten) and the muscle trucks (Rumble Bee, Rumble Bee 392, Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack, Rumble Bee SRT). Ram Canada also lists the 2027 Ram 1500 REV, a range extended electric truck, which that release does not cover. The Ram 1500 Classic is not on the 2027 list.
What warranty does a 2027 Ram 1500 carry?
A 2027 model year Ram 1500 carries Ram Canada's standard warranty: 3 years or 60,000 km basic, 5 years or 100,000 km fully transferable limited powertrain with $0 deductible and 24 hour roadside assistance, other than SRT vehicles such as the 2027 TRX SRT, which Ram Canada backs with a 3 year or 60,000 km powertrain limited warranty. The 5 year or 100,000 km term does not apply to vehicles sold for certain commercial uses. Ram Canada's 2027 Ram 1500 page and its TRX SRT page print those terms.
Does the 2027 Ram 1500 keep the warranty the 2026 model year had?
No. The 10 year or 160,000 km limited powertrain warranty applies to a 2026 model year Ram 1500 bought or leased new by a retail customer, for the 2026 model year only, and a 2027 Ram 1500 carries the standard 5 year or 100,000 km fully transferable limited powertrain term instead, other than SRT vehicles such as the 2027 TRX SRT at 3 years or 60,000 km. The model year on the window sticker tells you which coverage the truck in front of you carries.
